October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Meet attorney Stephanie G. Saad.
Stephanie serves as the Crime Victim’s Legal Assistance Project (CVLAP) staff attorney in the Pontiac Office of Lakeshore Legal Aid. Concentrating her practice on assisting domestic violence survivors, Saad expertly handles divorce, custody, and Personal Protection Order (PPO) cases, along with federal cases, landlord tenant issues, and public benefits matters such as Medicaid, Social Security, and disability.
Saad, a tireless advocate for those who do not feel safe in their own homes, feels it is “incredibly important that survivors and their children have someone to speak for them and appear with them in court when facing their abusers. A huge part of advocating for domestic violence survivors includes helping clients remember that they are strong, capable, and can make decisions for themselves and for their children.”
